ABOUT US
SURG is the student-run radio group at the University of Sydney – we love everything broadcast, digital arts and culture. Proudly continuing the history of campus radio, our online broadcast began in August 2011 and has continued ever since. As one of the most active clubs on campus, we frequently collaborate with other media societies and continue to grow our connections with local community and commercial radio groups.
As a part of the University of Sydney Union (USU), SURG broadcasts five days a week during both semesters of the USyd academic year. To produce content or broadcast with us, you must sign up as a USU member and attend our training sessions. These sessions cover technical studio skills as well as legal training, and aim to give you the basic skills required to start creating your very own show!
If you wish to write for us, get in touch with one of our executive team members (or email us) to pitch your idea.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY
SURG acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet, write, and broadcast: the Gadigal people of the Eora nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and future. Sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
