Sem 2 ’25: HOw I met your mixtape

Show Spotlight

Looking for a musical soulmate? Or maybe you just want to share your impeccable music taste? Look no further… How I Met Your Mixtape, co-hosted by Charlotte and Ruby, is a music/talk show based on YOUR submissions, with a matchmaking twist.. Each episode revolves around a theme, which anyone can submit songs for, as well as a short entry, which will be read out for everyone tuned in to hear. It can be a personal story, any relevant musical facts/knowledge or just the reasons why you love a song! Alongside our thrilling and commentary, of course. On top of this, at the end of each form you can nominate yourself for some musical matchmaking, simply tell us your taste and we’ll pair you with your musical soulmate! With a new theme every week, we love to keep stuff fresh and give everyone opportunities for their songs to be played, so keep an eye out for theme announcements on our Instagram! We are super passionate about sharing and discovering music, and listening to everyone’s submissions is always one of the highlights of our week! So don’t be shy, submit a song and tune in, every Monday from 4-5pm!

We asked hosts Charlotte Stockburn-Brown (on a gap year) and Ruby Resanceff (studying Contemporary Music) a couple of questions to get to know them a little better.

What song are you listening to over and over at the moment?

Charlotte: Cowboy Nudes by Geese.

Ruby: The Laughing Gnome by David Bowie.

If you could pick a food that embodies your show, what would it be?

Gnome food.

Which musical act no longer with us would you most want to time travel to watch live, just once?

Charlotte: Grimes in peak Art Angels era circa 2015. RIP beautiful angel diva you will be missed.. also The Beatles peak beatlemania!!

Ruby: David Bowie performing his hit 1973 single, The Laughing Gnome.

Give us a Spotify playlist that encapsulates your show!

This episode really encapsulates the sharing aspect of our show as submitters had to send songs by criminally underrated artists, which was such a treat!
