The Notorious Magpie of SURG is once again taking flight and has been growing over the semester break, finally reaching its final length. It’s the longest magpie in the world. It’s barely recognisable as a magpie anymore. The magpie has had enough of short to medium length songs. It demands that we play it really long songs. In The Long Magpie, Izzi (of Magpie Radio fame) and Pat (of The Hyperfixation Station fame) have combined forces to satiate this all powerful magpie. NO SHORT SONGS. NO QUICK FIXES. NO NORMAL SIZED BIRDS. So strap in cause you’re in for a LONG ride.

We asked hosts Pat (Science majoring in Plant Science and Data Science) and Izzi (Media & Communications) a couple of questions to get to know them a little better.

What song are you listening to over and over at the moment?

Pat: Slipshod by Enter Shikari (a very short song unfortunately).

Izzi: Found A Job by Talking Heads.

If you could pick a food that embodies your show, what would it be?

Pat: A baguette.
